[ ROSTER ] Assessing Sweden's Olympic Team and its chances By Thorsten Frennstedt The main task for Sweden is to reach the semi-final according to Head Coach Marika Domanski-Lyfors, then she adds that "in the next Olympic tournament we shall play in the final." Seven players are back from the Olympics in 1996, keeper Ulrika Karlsson, defenders Cecilia Sandell, Åsa Lönqvist. and Kristin Bengtsson, medfielders Malin Swedberg and Malin Andersson,and forwars Hanna Ljungberg. There are two players who have never played before in Sweden´s National women-team - forward Sara Johansson and defender Sara Larsson. -What a gigantic step to be a debutante in an Olympic game. Sweden will be the the under-dog in all their three games, and when Sweden failed to directly qualify for the European Championships next year against France their prospects went down. Still none of the opponents in the group E in Melbourne/Sydney (Brazil, Australia and Germany) has an all over winning record against Sweden.
