Power downs Freedom 4-2

New York Power turned in an impressive performance in downing Washington Freedom.

After quickly falling behind 1-0 when Freedom's Tracy Milburn scored in the seventh minute of play, the Power rallied for three goals in the first half enroute to holding off the Freedom as Mia Hamm watched from the sidelines. Tammy Pearman got the Power on the scoreboard at the nine minute mark and then Tiffeny Milbrett powered one by Dawn Greathouse in the 27th minute of play. Nel Fettig made it 3-1 with a goal in the 42nd minute of play.

Pretinha scored for the Freedom in the 58th minute to make it close, but then Jessica Reifer gave the Power a two-goal cushion when she scored in the 61st minute of play.
