Last
few of season WUSA games are down to playoff life or death
for almost half the league
Good
news for the U.S. National team is Hamm's continuing return to
her sparkling game, she appears to be gradually peaking as the
World Cup approaches. Her hat trick against San Jose helped clinch
a place in the semi-finals for her club. With two goals herself
in the match Wambach not only did her team a service but also
strengthened her chances of a place on the U.S. National Team
roster for September. She also has shown a steady gradual scoring
increase in the last weeks.
The
win by Freedom's also helped Boston to a playoff spot for the
first time. San Diego can clinch Wednesday if San Jose
and Carolina lose or tie. San Diego is competing with the CyberRays
and Carolina for the final spot. Carolina needs help from San
Diego to have any chance of making the playoffs and defending
its WUSA title
