Game Report

With Burtini away on National Team duty Carolina is in dire need ofplayer with the skills and shooting ability of Akers. Fotopoulos played with more enrgy and movement today. often going back on defense. Her one dimensional style as a strong physical target playerup front needs a partner with the quick skilled reactions of a player like Burtini to be effective.

Philadelphia'a Kelly gave a perfect example of the sort of quick thinking reactions a striker needs in the box when, after her shot went over Nordby but hit the crossbar, she was in place to head the rebound in.

The second goal was the result of some excellent vision and dribbling skill by Olafsdottir as she fed the ball across the goalmouth for Clemens to put away.
