exercise of option today

5:00 p.m. ET today each of the eight WUSA teams must cut its
roster to no more than 16 players and no less than 12.
Next
Monday 4:00 p.m. ET, a Waiver Draft will be held where players
whose option was not exercised will be available to be selected
by any team. The order of chosing will be based on each team's
finish in the 2002 season. The draft will continue until all
eight teams pass on their current pick. On February 25, a daily
Waiver Wire will begin and lasting until all players involved
are either claimed or become unrestricted. Any player not selected
during the Waivers Period may re-enter the league through the
tryout process.
