Philadelphia
Charge lose at home to New York Power
Charge
2 Power 3
Close
marking by Christie Pearce kept Marinette Pichon out of the game
as the Power broke their nine game losing streak. Philadelphia went
up 2-0 in an eighteen minute scoring spree that started sixteen
minutes into the second half , with goals by Mandy Clemens and Liu
Ailing respectively. But the Power out did them seven minutes from
time when a subbed in Tiffeny Milbrett kicked off a three goals
in four minute fest for New York, with two by her and one by Emily
Janss to give the visitors the win.
When
asked about the last goal, Milbrett stated, “I saw her come
out in the corner of my eye, and tried to get around her, which
I did, then all I had to do was place the ball into the empty net.”
Webber
made 10 saves on the evening, picking up her third win of the season.
With the two goals, Milbrett is now tied with Pichon for the WUSA
lead with 27 points.
