Philadelphia Charge Liu Ailing becomes
the first player in WUSA history to win back-to-back player of the
week awards
The veteran
Chinese midfielder totaled two goals and an assist for five points
as the Charge went 1-1-0 last week. InThursday's 2-0 road win over
the Washington Freedom, Liu assisted on Philadelphia's first goal
by Mandy Clemens in the 20th minute and scored the second on a pass
from Clemens in the 51st minute. In Sunday's 2-1 setback vs. Washington,
she continued her hot play with a goal in the second minute and
was dangerous with every touch for the rest of the game. Overall,
Liu led the Charge in shots (7) and shots on goal (4) last week.
