is WUSA Player of Week 16

Area CyberRays forward Katia was named Week 16 WUSA Player of the
Week after
scoring both of her team's game-winning goals en route to a 2-0-0
record for the week. She finished with two goals and seven shots
on goal. On August 2nd against the Philadelphia Charge, Katia scored
the game winner in the 62nd minute of play with a left-footed
blast from 20 yards out assured Bay Area the first-ever clinched
playoff spot in WUSA history. Against the New York Power on Sunday
August 5th, with Bay Area poised to clinch home-field advantage
in the playoffs with a win, Katia was the only goal scorer of the
game. She struck in the 53rd minute off a 30-yard line drive into
the corner of the net.
