Don't miss the Freedom Rally on Wednesday April 11th from 12:30pm ­ 2pm at Freedom Plaza (14th & Penn. Ave)

Mayor Williams and Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton celebrate the Freedom at a Freedom Rally at Freedom Plaza on Wednesday afternoon. The Freedom and Bay Area CyberRays players, including stars Mia Hamm and Brandi Chastain, will be there to help start the countdown to the Washington Freedom's and WUSA's opening day this Saturday, April 14 at 2pm at RFK Stadium. Mayor Anthony Williams and Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton will welcome the area's newest professional sports team to the city. All players from both the Freedom and the CyberRays will be on hand. Mia Hamm and Brandi Chastain will both speak. WUSA's Tony DiCicco (Head Coach of the 1999 World Cup Championship Team) will be the special guest MC.

Some of WUSA's founding players and 1999 World Cup Champions,including Julie Foudy, Kristine Lilly, Carla Overbeck, and Tiffeny Milbrett, will be on hand throughout most of the week.
