Brandi Chastain chosen as WUSA's Player of the Week for the week ending June 16, 2002

Chastain scored two goals and drew the call that resulted in the game winning penalty kick in San Jose's 4-3 win over New York on June 15 at Spartan Stadium. She was named the league's player of the week for the first time in her WUSA career.

Chastain scored in the 66th minute, 70th minute and was fouled from behind in the penalty box in the 88th minute to set up Katia's game-winning penalty kick.
