Philadelphia (9-7-4, 31 points) needed a win or tie tonight to become the third team to qualify for the semifinals. The Charge, who wrap up the regular season on Sunday at Boston, will be either the third or fourth seed, meaning their playoff game will be at either top-seeded Atlanta or No. 2 Bay Area on Saturday, Aug. 18.

San Diego (7-7-6, 27 points) remained in fifth place and is still mathematically alive to make the playoffs. The Spirit, who are unbeaten in their last five games, need to beat Carolina on Sunday and hope for a loss by fourth-place New York at Washington on Saturday.
