Philadelphia Charge
host Carolina Courage on Monday as final week of WUSA regular season
begins
The
Philadelphia Charge try for a playoff berth this Monday, Aug. 6
at 7:05 p.m., when they play the Carolina Courage at Villanova Stadium.
The match is the first of three final regular season games over
a seven-day span for the Charge.
Philadelphia
owns an 8-7-3 record and is in fourth place in the WUSA standings.
Second-place Atlanta,and third-place New York have each played an
extra game. Boston (7-9-3) in fifth place with 24 points has also
played one more match than
Philadelphia.
The top four teams qualify for the WUSA semifinals to be played
on Saturday, Aug. 18.
Reach
is sponsoring Back to School Check-Up Night this Monday. Reach will
be giving away cheer sticks to the first 5,000 fans, as well as
toothbrushes through their interactive game in the Fun Zone. A special
collector's poster featuring Fitschen and Carolina Courage midfielder
Tiffany Roberts
will
be handed out courtesy of the Philadelphia Inquirer's Newspapers
in Education program. YMCA, Park & Recreation and women's organization
members will all receive discounts off $20 and $15 seats. Sprint
car driver Mares Stellfox, who became the first female ARDC Rookie
of the Year in 1989, will
have
her #23 car on display in the Fun Zone. Singing group Mpress, who
recently released their debut CD, Suddenly, on Big 3 Records, will
be performing the national anthem.
Following
Monday's match, the Charge will wrap up the home portion of their
first season against Julie Foudy and the San Diego Spirit on Thursday,
Aug. 9 at 7:05 p.m. It will be Fan Appreciation Night, as dozens
of prizes will be given away to lucky ticket holders. Special Charge
trading cards will
also
be available courtesy of Hyundai. Philadelphia's season finale is
at Boston on Sunday, Aug. 12 at 3:05 p.m.
Individual
game tickets for Charge home games at the 11,800-seat Villanova
Stadium are $20, $15 and $10. Tickets can be purchased at the First
Union Center box office and all Ticketmaster locations, or by calling

and children 12 and under on the $20 and $15 seats.
