Game Report:

Careful defensive play by both teams in the first half with some great saves by Ducar keeping Boston’s hopes alive. San Diego appeared flat and tired. The second half saw a revived Spirit squad with more lively, attacking play against a groggy looking Ducar after her collision in the first half with MacMillan.

Twenty minutes from the end Boxx played a beautiful ball through the middle to Koleski running in at the edge of the box. Her first shot was batted away by Ducar but she made sure with a confident second hit. The Spirit hung on grimly for the last ten minutes of the game, that included 4 minutes of extra time, but Boston was unable to convert its chances.
