Game

In the first half Boston's organised, accurate passing along the ground complimented their fine defensive play., and counter attacks. Lilly's great vision and pin point passing to an accelerating Melgren, coupled with Melgren's superb finishing, was delightful soccer at its best.

The Freedom looked disorganized and little movement off the ball at midfield. Their attack consisted mainly of desperate looking low percentage air balls and considering quality players like Hamm and Prethina up front was quite disappointing.

Washington came out looking more focussed in the second half, with more organization and more ground ball passing. Their constant attacking mode finally paid off twenty minutes from the end when Bai Jie put a great shot past Ducar after running on to a finely placed pass over the defense from Grubb. Too little too late.

Boston held on for the win.
