Game

An even start to the first half until Smith’s brilliant opportunistic goal at 30 minutes sparked the Charge who followed up with a second goal as Clemens well taken header caught the Beat defense off guard just two minutes later. So is an upset is in the offing as the charge finished the half 2-0?

Sun Wen’s appearance in the second half changed the game for Atlanta with first a penalty kick after hooper was taken down, and then a curling in corner kick that bounced off the goalkeeper for Parlow to head in and tie the match. Inspite of tremendous pressure by the Beat the game went into overtime with the attack coming mainly from Atlanta. In the second overtime after the Charge lost Smith to an ankle injury, a long free kick by Nonen to Parlow in the box was controlled under pressure by her and her shot taken on a half turn hit the inside of the post and spun across the goal and in.
