Julie Foudy in first week as Women's Sports Foundation President, announces additions to WSF Board

President Foudy said "It is exciting to start my presidency by announcing the addition of these outstanding individuals to our Board of Trustees. We plan to continue expanding and encouraging opportunities for girls and women to participate in sports and fitness, while also building an endowment to provide for future growth. Our new and returning trustees and officers represent a variety of strengths, as well as a passion for women's sports, that makes them an eminently qualified group to embrace their forthcoming challenges."

Newly elected trustees:

Geena Davis, actress and producer, -nationally ranked 13# archer

Leslie Heywood,
Associate professor of English and sports studies at SUNY-Binghampton,-former NCAA Division l track athlete

Jeanette Lee,
Founder of the Jeanette Lee Foundation a charitable organization whose purpose is to demonstrate that any goal can be achieved despite one's disability,-known as the "Black Widow" of professional billiards

Sue Wellington, President of U.S. Beverages for The Quaker Oats Company, - former NCAA Division I All-American swimmer and captain of the Yale swim team
