Get your entries in for the outstanding Soccer Mom

The "Outstanding Soccer Mom Search" is looking for the most dependable, fun-loving and supportive mom in the country. Diane Barbara of Lafayette (CA) was named the winner out of more than 1,600 entries at the WUSA Founders Cup II game last year in Atlanta.

Four finalists will be selected this season. The grand prizewinner will receive a suite of Maytag appliances, a new Hyundai Santa Fe Sports Utility Vehicle, a luxurious spa makeover and a trip for four to the WUSA championship game. At the game, the Maytag Man and his Apprentice will announce the winner.

While claiming the grand prize garners a fleet of Maytag Appliances, each of the finalists will receive at least one Maytag appliance of her choice as well. The first, second and third runners-up will receive three, two and one Maytag appliance, respectively. In addition, each finalist will be treated to a makeover prior to the award ceremony plus two nights lodging for herself, two members of her family and the person who nominated her.

This year, Maytag will make a donation to the three soccer clubs nationally with the most Outstanding Soccer Mom nominations. So get those entries in!

The contest runs March 24 through July 13, 2003. To nominate someone, simply describe in 150 words or less why your nominee represents Maytag¹s Outstanding Soccer Mom. Nominations may be submitted online at www.maytag.com, by mail to Maytag¹s ³Outstanding Soccer Mom Search² Essay Contest, 16055 West Stratton Road, New Berlin, WI 53151, at area Best Buy stores’ the official Maytag retailer during the soccer mom contest ’ or at selected WUSA games. Winning entries will be judged on originality and creativity. Judges this year are WUSA star Brandi Chastain and the four finalists from last year's soccer mom search.
