University of Oklahoma College of Continuing Education hosting the
Conglomerate Women's Athletic Clinic July 18-21 in Norman, Okla.
The conglomerate is
a group of individual health professionals working together to demonstrate
safe and effective modes of resistance training. Its purpose is to educate
allied health professionals, coaches, fitness coordinators, personal trainers,
athletes, dancers and fitness enthusiasts about the importance of appropriate
physical activity, nutrition, stress management and financial disciplines.
"The conference sessions help participants renounce old myths about physical
training by distinguishing the difference between athletic simulation
and specific task training," said Gary Augustine Warren, Conglomerate
Holistic Health president. "The sessions will also teach participants
about herbal and sport supplements, principles to alleviate economic debt,
HIV/AIDS awareness and holistic approaches on achieving success in life."
Opening the workshop is a pre-conference banquet featuring Dr. Kenneth
Cooper and Millie Cooper, of the Cooper Aerobics Center, on July 17 at
the Marriott Conference Center.
Thirty years ago, Cooper introduced aerobics to the world and helped launch
the preventive medicine movement. Since then, his books have been translated
into 41 languages and he has lectured in 50 countries. He is credited
with inspiring more people to exercise than any other person. Juliane
Gendron Arney and MaDonna Grimes headline the dance workshop. Grimes,
a former Ms. Fitness America, is the owner of the MaDonna Grimes Fitness
& Dance Theater Company in Los Angeles, Calif. Arney serves as the managing
director of the fitness consulting firm Body Dynamics. She is also on
the teaching faculty at the Culture Shock Training Academy in San Diego,Calif.
The conference fee is $395. Single-day registration is available and the
