University of Oklahoma College of Continuing Education hosting the Conglomerate Women's Athletic Clinic July 18-21 in Norman, Okla.

The conglomerate is a group of individual health professionals working together to demonstrate safe and effective modes of resistance training. Its purpose is to educate allied health professionals, coaches, fitness coordinators, personal trainers, athletes, dancers and fitness enthusiasts about the importance of appropriate physical activity, nutrition, stress management and financial disciplines.

"The conference sessions help participants renounce old myths about physical training by distinguishing the difference between athletic simulation and specific task training," said Gary Augustine Warren, Conglomerate Holistic Health president. "The sessions will also teach participants about herbal and sport supplements, principles to alleviate economic debt, HIV/AIDS awareness and holistic approaches on achieving success in life."

Opening the workshop is a pre-conference banquet featuring Dr. Kenneth Cooper and Millie Cooper, of the Cooper Aerobics Center, on July 17 at the Marriott Conference Center.

Thirty years ago, Cooper introduced aerobics to the world and helped launch the preventive medicine movement. Since then, his books have been translated into 41 languages and he has lectured in 50 countries. He is credited with inspiring more people to exercise than any other person. Juliane Gendron Arney and MaDonna Grimes headline the dance workshop. Grimes, a former Ms. Fitness America, is the owner of the MaDonna Grimes Fitness & Dance Theater Company in Los Angeles, Calif. Arney serves as the managing director of the fitness consulting firm Body Dynamics. She is also on the teaching faculty at the Culture Shock Training Academy in San Diego,Calif.
