Femke Maes of Eendracht Aalst named Top Player in Belgium

Belgium First Division Coaches named Femke Maes as the Belgium Player of the Year. This was the first year that such an award has been given in the women's game. It was awarded by www.dames-voetbal.be, an internet site in Flemish about Belgian womens soccer and presented by their organiser Eric Gielens. Coaches from all of the First Division Clubs in Belgium voted.
Femke Maes played for the club Eendracht Aalst last season when they won both the league championship and the Belgian Cup.
Next year she wil play for Rapide Wezemaal who were second in the Belgian championship. She appeared on Belgian Television with her award.
