MacMillan and Tarpley win 2002 Chevrolet awards

U.S. Team National member Shannon Macmillan was named the 2002 Chevy Female Athlete of the Year. A long time regular member of the U.S. National squad whose strength has long been as a strong scoring substitute, she had a high scoring year in 2002.

FIFA World Champion U.S. Under-19 National team captain Lindsay Tarpley was named the 2002 Chevy Young Female Athlete of the Year. She scored the ³golden² goal in the first FIFA Under-19 World Championship last September as the U.S. Under-19 National Team repeated the 1991 U.S. National Team¹s achievement in winning the first ever Women¹s FIFA National Team Championship.
