Lauren Cheney is the Gatorade National High School Player of the Year

Cheney graduated early from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis ,Indiana after scoring 112 goals during her four years there. She was a four-time Indiana All-State selection, a three-time NSCAA All-American, and was named 2005 NSCAA National High School Player of the Year. She also played for the Carmel United Heat Club.
Cheney finished with a 3.1 GPA and 1410 SAT score and will attend UCLA as a freshman this fall.

She scored two goals and four assists in the Nordic Cup last year as the youngest member of the U.S. Under- 21 National Team that won the tournament. l

Cheney scored four goals for the U.S. Under-20 National Team in the CONCACAF qualifier for the upcoming U-20 FIFA World Championship, and has been at several training camps with the U.S. National Team.
