Michelle Akers and friends to host All-Star Fantasy Camp

Introducing the first ever women’s only fantasy soccer event, the Michelle Akers All-Star Fantasy Camp, to be hosted at the Oasis Resort on the beautiful shores of Gulfport, Mississippi, September 6-9, 2002.

Limited registration for the first-time event begins just in time for holiday gift-giving. Members at eBay can visit http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/michelleakersofficial and click on Experiences for more information. Visitors can register for free at www.eBay.com.

Due to the anticipated high demand for the limited number of camp openings ( 100 )each position will go to the highest bidder. Proceeds from the auctions will go to support Soccer Outreach International (SOI), a non-profit youth leadership program that Akers founded in 1997. Information on the auction process is available at eBay.

Akers, FIFA's Player of the Century and a two-time World Champion, created the concept for this unique four-day event and invited three very talented and special guests to attend: Brandi Chastain, Tiffeny Milbrett and former US National coach Tony DiCicco. [More players will be added in January.] Women fans ans and amateur players have never been offered an experience of this magnitude.

"Men have had fantasy baseball and basketball camps for years," Akers points out. "I thought it was about time that the women have some fun, too, and get a chance to support a very worthwhile cause, SOI. We have invited a wonderful cast and created an amazing experience that campers of all abilities will never forget. It will make for a great gift for oneself or for a special woman in someone's life."

In addition to hanging out with these five World Champions and Olympic gold medal winners, campers will bask in the sun and fun of the beautiful Oasis Resort on the shores of the Gulf of Mexico. No dorms for these campers! They will spend their mornings and afternoons at a brand new soccer facility learning the skills of the game from some of the biggest names in women's soccer.
