Utah Spiders eager to defend their 2003 WPSL Championship title

Last year their entry into the WPSL championship finals was by way of a wild card. The unheralded team proceeded to beat the US Open Cup Champion team So Cal Ajax, and the reigning WPSL Champion team California Storm to win the 2003 Championship.

Spider Head Coach Joanna Barney attributes the strong Utah Youth Soccer Association program as being a major contributor to the success of her team, since 90% of the players come from the UYSA.
