U.S. National Team Roster for December 10th USA vs. Mexico match in Houston, Texas

The match will mark the final national team appearance in the state of Texas for Carla Overbeck, who will retire from international soccer following the USA's final "Glory Tour" match vs. Japan in Phoenix, Ariz., on Dec. 17th. The USA- Mexico game will be the first visit to Texas for the U.S. Women's National Team since Feb. 17, 1996, when the USA defeated Sweden, 3-0, at Clyde Abshier Stadium in Houston in a preparation match for the 1996 Olympics.

Three players from the 2000 Olympic Team will not make the trip as goalkeeper Briana Scurry has family commitments, defender Danielle Slaton is soon to undergo minor knee surgery and defender Joy Fawcett is pregnant with her third child, due sometime next June, and will once again put her soccer career on hold. Fawcett plans to continue playing internationally as well as for her WUSA club, the San Diego Spirit, perhaps joining the team in time for the end of the inaugural season. U.S. head coach April Heinrichs will likely add a goalkeeper and a defender to roster prior to the match.
