Heinrichs and Nike create a scholarship program for coaches of women or girls

National Team Head Coach and technical director April Heinrich and Nike, Inc. are creating a scholarship program for American coaches of female players. This commitment of Heinrichs and Nike to the development of coaches in the United States is the first of its kind. Those selected will receive a $1,000
scholarship to help cover the cost of participation in a U.S. Soccer Federation State or National Coaching Course. The following are the criteria applicants must meet to be considered as a candidate for this prestigious scholarship: 1) She/he must be a coach of a women's and/or girl's team; 2) She/he must coach at the recreational, club, high school, Olympic Development Program (district, state or regional), or college levels; 3) All NAIA and NCAA coaches are eligible. Applications will be accepted continuously and will be awarded twice annually on April 15 and Sept. 15. For more information or for a scholarship application, log on to US Soccer's site
