Milbrett named as one of the 21 finalists for the MSG Network Avis New
York Player of the Year Award Power forward Tiffeny Milbrett has been named as one of the 21 finalists for the MSG Network Avis New York Player of the Year Award. Milbrett (WUSA MVP and Offensive Player of the Year) is also a finalist for the first ever FIFA World Female Player of the Year along with Mia Hamm (Washington Freedom) and Sun Wen (Atlanta Beat). Milbrett, the Power team captain, led the WUSA in scoring with 35 points, which included 16 goals and three assists. The 16 goals scored also topped the WUSA. Milbrett had the longest goal-scoring streak in the league, scoring a goal in five consecutive games. A native of Portland, OR, the 5-2 forward has made 169 appearances for the US National Team, recording 86 goals, which is third on the team to Mia Hamm's 129 and Kristine Lilly's 87. The winner will be announced on December 22.
