Howdy. That's how we say hello in Birmingham, Alabama. Of course, we couldn't be farther from Alabama here in Gjovik, but I must say I am enjoying this trip. Today we had training in the morning and then we all went to a lake to take a dip in what turned out to be icy cold water, but it was good recovery for our legs after our tough game against Denmark yesterday. We splashed around and swam a bit, but the real excitement came at the diving boards. There was a one-meter, three-meter and 10-meter platforms and yes, yours truly took a leap off the highest one.

After we got back from the lake, a bunch of us went shopping the local mall. I got some cool earrings that were on sale for 30 kroner (that's out three bucks!). I checked my e-mail and then our general manager convinced me to go to the store with him to pick up some snacks for our team. We got healthy snacks 'cause our snack trunk had a bit too much sweet stuff in it. We got rice cakes, raisins, cereal, bread and lots of crackers.

After I got back from the store, I needed a serious power nap, so I crashed on the couch in our player lounge/meeting room to make sure I didn't miss the start of our nightly movie. We watched "Cocktail" with Tom Cruise. I don't know if it was a good movie or not, but if Tom Cruise is in it, it doesn't matter. Back then, Tom Cruise was a nice guy, but now that he dumped Nicole Kidman, I don't like him so much anymore.

We picked up a great win against Denmark yesterday, but we didn't play well at all. After an own goal and a great finish by Abby Wambach, all in the first 12 minutes, we went into halftime at 2-0 knowing that we had pick it up in the second as we weren't playing up to our standards. Our subs that came in and did really well and we gutted out two more goals to win 4-0. If we beat Germany tomorrow, we are in the championship. We are all dedicated to playing our best match of the tournament against Germany.

I am going back to Birmingham after this trip to see my friends and go to an NSYNC concert. I'll see all you Alabamians and Chapel Hillians when I get back! I hope y'all don't miss me too much!

In Him.
Cat
