Playing in a torrential downpour China took the lead in the 39th minute with Bai Jie finishing an excellent cross over the defense from Sun Wen . Six minutes later in a melee in front of the net Bai Lille put the ball in to to give China a two-goal lead at the half. Bai Lille scored again with a well taken chip over the keeper from 15 yards out in the 53rd. minute.
