Game

In the first half the festive holiday crowd of 15, 614 was shown a stay in your bunker and bang it down field game by Canada. Soon the U.S. Squad dropped any pretense of controlled soccer and decided to see if they could beat Canada by adopting their style and flighting long pointless balls into their opponent's end for them to kick them back. This did not suceed because Canada had obviously been practising this way of playing to perfection. Coupled with go it alone play up front it was boring to watch,

Fortunately in the second half after Hamm, Kramer and Pierce were put in the U.S. regained some shape, played like a skilled team again with posession play, and showed some nice thoughtful moving off the ball.

There were no real shots on goal except the one put in by Milbrett after a cleverly performed chipped free kick.
