May 23, 2004 U.S. Under-21 National Team blank Sao Paulo All-Stars in preparation for an incredible schedule in the Cataras tournament
The U.S. U-21 squad beat the Paulistana Selection 4-0 at Lindoia Stadium. The scorers were Natasha Kai, Tara Hurless, Nikki Thaden and Joanna Lohman. The U.S. team is in Brazil for the Cataratas Tournament taking place in Cataratas Stadium, Parana beginning May 26th.
The U.S. opens the tournament that day with a game against a Brazilian League All-Star Team, followed on May 28th. with a match against China U-21 National Team, and finishing with a game the next day against the Brazilian Olympic Team.
The scheduling of international games, without even a days rest for the players, against teams at that level is unheard of in the U.S.Soccer men's game. Who arranged this one?
