Match report
The heavy driving rain that persisted through out the match made it difficult for both sides to control the ball consistently, but in the first half the U.S. managed to acquire an attractive and skilled rhythm to their game that made the Canadians look inept and unorganized.
The U.S. second goal was a beautifully executed short passing operation with several players involved that left the Canadian defense wide open.
Canada started the second half more aggressively and had some chances. Milbrett came into the game in the second half, and she and Lilly showed us how they are in a class of their own in their playing and understanding of the game . Their superiority over the Canadian players shone out.
Both of them created chances for their players and two passes by Milbrett should have been goals but Wambach had been substituted. Her replacement is the same size as her, but lacking her ball skills was unable to finish.
