July 25, 2001 W-1 Diana Artuso and W-2 Tina Murphy are Players of Week 16 Diana Artuso The Vancouver Breakers breezed through a three-game road trip last week behind the performance of forward Diana Artuso, who was named the W-1 Player of the Week. Artuso scored all five goals in the Breakers first two games of the week and then set up the first two of their third victory. Vancouver defeated the Denver Lady Cougars 3-0 Wednesday on a hat-trick from Artuso, who was back from a knee injury that kept her out of two matches. On Friday, Artuso again provided all of the offense, scoring twice in the 2-0 victory over the Mile High Mustangs. In the final game of the Colorado road swing Saturday, she set up Geri Donnelly and Andrea Neil for a 2-0 halftime lead in the 3-0 win over the Fort Collins Force. Charlotte Lady Eagles midfielder Tina Murphy scored a team and personal high four goals in an 8-0 win over the New Jersey Wildcats Saturday, earning the W-2 Player of the Week honor. Murphy started three minutes in with her first goal of the night on an assist from Tiffany Tisdale. She made it 3-0 in the 25th minute by setting up Katie Gardinier. Five minutes later, she scored her second of the match to make it 4-0. Murphy added her second assist of the game four minutes later and scored in the 39th and 45th minutes.
