July 13, 2001 W-1 Springfield Sirens sign former U-21 U.S. National Team member WUSA, the first professional women's soccer league in this country, has brought with it the concept of player movement, trades, etc. between teams. Beth Keller, Clemson
University standout and a former U-21 U.S. National Team Member who was
a 13th Round selection in the inaugural WUSA Draft of the Philadelphia
Charge, was given her unconditional release from the Carolina Courage
(WUSA) near the end of June. This has led her to the Springfield Sirens
for the final stretch run of the 2001 season. "We're really pleased to announce the signing of a tremendous player in Beth Keller to our team," Springfield Director Of Soccer Operations Ed Kopec, Sr. said. "Were all very excited about what she can bring to our team, and she has the experience to back all of that up."
