W-1 Tina Blaskovic and W-2 Missy Gregg named as W-League Players of the Week

In two one-goal victories for the Toronto Inferno this weekend, forward Tina Blaskovic scored each goal, earning the W-1 Player of the Week honor. In a back-and-forth match that Toronto never led in until Blaskovic scored the winner in the 84th minute of the 4-3 win. Her first three goals of the night in the 38th, 66th and 80th minutes all served as equalizers in the thriller. In Sunday's 3-2 overtime win, Blaskovic scored the opening goal in the third minute, but was called upon for another equalizer in the 71st after Ottawa scored two straight and the winner in the 93rd minute.

She picks up her fourth W-2 Player of the Week honor of the season after two dominating performances on the road against quality opponents, including the Kansas City Mystics, who handed the Gregg's Mercury their only loss of the season earlier this year. Gregg's weekend opened with a hat-trick and an assist in a 5-1 win over 2000 W-2 Semi-Finalist Oklahoma Friday. Memphis strolled into Kansas City Sunday and avenged the loss in resounding fashion, handing the Mystics a 10-2 defeat. Gregg scored two of the first three goals in the opening 31 minutes and added three more in the second half.
