TEAMS 2001 SCHEDULE STANDINGS RESULTS

April 27, 2001

Western New England College partners with W1-League Springfield Sirens

As part of the arrangement, the Sirens will play at least eight home games this season at the College's main athletic field. The first game is scheduled for Sunday, May 13 at 4:00 p.m. versus Rhode Island. Other home game opponents include Ottawa, Toronto, Boston, and New York.

"This partnership goes well beyond the College simply providing a field for the Sirens to play soccer," said Dr. Caprio, College President, "In addition to helping to strengthen our service to our local community, it is also offering an attractive venue for more, quality family entertainment in the City of Springfield."
Western New England College is a private, independent, coeducational institution founded in 1919. Located on an attractive 215-acre suburban
campus in Springfield, Massachusetts, the College serves 5,000 students on its main campus and at 18 sites throughout the Commonwealth. Undergraduate and graduate programs are offered through the College's Schools of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, and Law.

"We are excited about the opportunity to play on the beautiful campus of Western New England College," said Diane Fabrocini-Kopec, Sirens owner and
general manager. "Now that we're moving up to the highest level of soccer being played by men or women in western Massachusetts, Western New EnglandCollege provides a professional soccer-friendly environment at this high level."

The Sirens, who have several local women on their roster, won the W-2 National Championship last year. The team moved up to the W-1 League
this season.
