W-League Indiana Blaze set tryout dates to prepare for another successful season

Indiana Blaze of the W-Leaguewill be holding tryout for the upcoming season. Try-outs will be held on four separate days, beginning on Saturday, April 7 and Sunday, April 8. The third try-out date is set for the following Saturday, April 14, with the final date scheduled on Sunday, April 28. All try outs will be held at Lawrence Fields (fields 8-11) from 2p-4p. The try-outs will be free to all participants, and each player needs to bring their own soccer gear.

Head Coach of the Blaze, Marc Behringer, is looking forward to another successful season with the team. "We're expecting a
great turnout at the try-outs," said the coach. Following the tremendous success of last year's team, some of the players have been asked to try out for professional clubs, leaving the door open for younger collegiate players to make their mark. "This should be another great season for the Blaze, as we hope to have several returning players and some younger players stepping up this season."

Several Indiana Blaze players have been asked to join try-outs for teams in the new professional women's soccer league. WUSA,
will begin it's inaugural season this Spring, and Wendy Dillinger, Tracy Grose, Joy Aschenbrener, and Kelly Wilson have each been asked for try-outs by WUSA teams. Wendy is with the Atlanta Beat, Tracy is with the Carolina Courage, Joy with the Boston Breakers, and Kelly is working out with the Bay Area CyberRays.

Lori Lindsey, a stellar midfielder from the University of Virginia, will not be back with the Blaze this season. Lori has decided to
return to Virginia and finish her senior year in school.

The Indiana Blaze, along with their A-League partners the Indiana Blast, will have a new look when they take the field for their home openers on May 18 and May 11 respectively. MorSports recently unveiled new team logos and re-launched the Club web site at www.indianablast.com.

"As the teams prepare to kick off their 5th season here in Indianapolis, we decided it was time for a fresh look," says Owner
and President Kim Morris. "Corporate and community support of the Blast and Blaze has grown substantially over the past two seasons and we're certain that the new logos will just add fuel to the fire."

Methodist Sports Medicine returns as the Official Sports Medicine Provider for both the Indiana Blaze and the Indiana Blast. Methodist Sports has been providing quality orthopaedic care for the players since the teams' arrival in Indianapolis in 1997. "We know we can count on them to keep our players in the game," says Ian Martin, head
