Two additional Australian Nationals are signed by the Piranhas

Hampton Roads Piranhas have added two Australian National Team members to their 2001 roster. The latest to join the squad are Kelly Golebiowski and Bryony Duus.

Golebiowski, a forward from Sydney, made her debut for the Matildas in 1996, at the age of 14. Later that year she suffered a knee injury that sidelined her for almost a year. She fought her way back into the lineup, and was a member of the 1999 World Cup team, and the 2000 Olympic team. Her club team in Australia, the NSW Sapphires, won a second Australian Summer Series national league title for the second year in a row in 2000.

Duus, a midfielder from Canberra, joined the Matildas in 1996 at the age of 18. A member of the 2000 Olympic squad, she started in all of Australia's matches. She played in the U.S. 95-98 at Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon, Georgia. The team made the NAIA national championship tournament in 96, finishing 3rd in the country. A gifted athlete, Duus shocked everyone at Brewton-Parker by winning a tennis scholarship as well, despite having never played the game before. She went on to reach the semi-finals of the NAIA tournament for the state of Georgia. She plays for her club team, the Queensland Sting, in Australia. Golebiowski and Duus will join their Matildas team mate, Amy Taylor, previously signed by the Piranhas, for training camp in early May.
