The University of
Cincinnati Bearcats defeated their crosstown rivals, the Xavier University
Musketeers, 3-0 on Friday night at Xavier's Corcoran Field.
The game was the regular season opener for both teams.
Marie Strelka scored the only goal of the first half when she found the
back of the net just 8 minutes in. 58 minutes later Tianna Oliver scored
on a header at 66 minutesand senior Amy Simonson added the final goal
at the 70.
Xavier completes its season-opening two-match homestand on Sunday with
a 1:00 p.m. game against Butler.
