Red-shirt freshman Kim Taylor scored three goals as 12th-ranked Washington blanked Colorado College 5-0.

Taylor capitalized on Colorado's defensive game planwhen Bennett fed a pass to Blair Ruport who found Taylor open 12 yards from the goal. Taylor scored again four minutes into the second half from 17-yards. Junior Jaime Carstensen scored eight minutes later when she received a pass from Bennett and curved it in.

Bennett-Taylorteamed up a second time leading to a 20-yard blast by Taylor. Walk-on Lindsy Humphrey capped the scoring, netting a goal just three minutes after she entered the game. Humphrey, from Newport High School, recently joined the team during preseason workouts at the end of August.

Taylor's three-goal outburst was not surprising to Gallimore. She was a highly regarded recruit who played only two games last year before season ending knee surgery.

"Once she got going, she was really focused, her touch was a little bit better, she was able to get around people and she clearly got some good shots off. She is goal dangerous," Gallimore said. "It's great for her to come out and get some confidence and know that she is capable of doing it, particularly before we go and start to play some tougher opponents."

The Huskies (2-0) take their first road trip of the season with a visit to Chapel Hill, N.C. for the Carolina Classic. Washington meets No. 21 Duke on Friday (Sept. 6) before an encounter Sunday (Sept. 8) with host North Carolina, a 17-time NCAA champion.
