Wake Forest beats Oregon State to remain undefeated in Nike Invitational

Wake Forest finished the Invitational with a victory over the Oregon State Beavers, 2-1.

Wake's first goal came in 30 minutes when Sarah Kozey lofted the ball over a crowd of defensive players to Alena Thom, who put it in. In the second half, Katie Johnson put Wake Forest up 2-0 connected from a pass by Sarah Kozey. Oregon State 's only goal came from Stacey Mescher at 63 minutes.

Oregon State's goalkeeper, Jo Fletcher had five saves for the match, while Wake goalie Erin Regan had none.

Wake Forest's offense dominated the game as the Deacs took 18 shots, including 12 in the second half, while Oregon State only had four. Wake
also tallied seven corner kicks to Oregon State's one.

The Deacsl travel to Elon, NC on Tuesday, September 3rd. to play the Phoenix of Elon University. Game time is set for 4:00.
