USC upsets Penn State

The USC Trojans upset the Penn State Nittany Lions, 1-0, in first-day action at the UCLA Cup. Megan Abbamonto scored in the 85th minute from about 25 yards out over the head of Penn State goalkeeper Amanda Brown.
It was the first goal of the season for USC (1-2) and one of their biggest wins in the 10 year existence.

Penn State (1-1) outshot the Women of Troy by a 15-12 marginand had several corner kicks in the final two minutes of the match.

USC play No. 2 Virginia on Sunday (September, 10th.) at Drake Stadium on the UCLA campus. Sunday's game will be the third time in four games that USC has played a team ranked in the top five nationally.
