USC signs six players to letters of intent for 2002 season

 

Katy Boynton

A goalkeeper from St. Paul, MN she played in 63 career matches at Minnehaha Academy, recording 38 shutouts with a 0.83 goals-against-average. She earned all-state honors in her 2001 season and was a member of state Olympic Development Program (ODP) teams in 1999 and 2001.

Heather Jablonsky

A midfielder/defender from Yorba Linda, California of Esperanza High School in Anaheim, California, she earned All-CIF and all-league honors at Esperanza High. She was a member of the 1999/2000 ODP U-17 Winter/Spring player pool and played club soccer for the Southern California Blues U-16 and U-17 teams.

Jenna Killian

A midfielder/defender from Encinitas who earned team most valuable player honors in 2001 at La Costa Canyon High. She played club soccer for the San Diego Surf and was a member of the 2001 ODP state team, as well as the ODP state pool in 1999 and 2000. Killian also was a high school teammate of current Trojans Megan Kakadelas and Kaitlyn Pruett.

Jocelyn Leche

A midfielder/forward from Pinole, Californiao was named most valuable player of the Bayshore Athletic League at Salesian High in 2001 and 2002. She earned all-league honors three years and was a member of the Bay Oaks U-17 club team. She also played on the softball team and was named one of the top 100 prep athletes in 2001 by the Contra Costa Times.

Amy Mann

A midfielder from Alamo she was the leading scorer four years on the varsity squad at San Ramon Valley High School in Danville, California and earned 2000 All-CIF honors. She earned all-league honors three times and was named to the NSCAA/Adidas All-Far West Team. Mann was a member of the 2001 ODP U16/17 Cal North select team and also played on the ODP Cal North State U-16 and U-17 teams. She also was team captain at the club level for the Mustang Tri-Valley United U-18 Premier team.

Marie Pedersen

A midfielder/defender from Rancho Palos Verdes she was an NSCAA All-American and the NSCAA California State Player of the Year in her 2001 season at Peninsula High School in Rolling Hills. She earned All-CIF and all-league honors, as well as being named league most valuable player. Pedersen played club soccer for the Fram Soccer Club. At Peninsula High, she also was a member of the varsity tennis team that was ranked number one in the nation three years. She was a nationally-ranked junior tennis player for six years.
