February 13, 2002 UCLA signs four outstanding players to letters of intent
UCLA Head Coach Jillian Ellis announced the signing of four players, who have all represented the United States at the Youth National Team level , to letters of intent Wednesday Jill OakesMF/D West Hills, CA/Harvard-Westlake High School. One of only two high school players on the Under-21 U.S. National Team which won the Nordic Cup in August. She played in nine matches with the Under-19 U.S. squad in 2001 and will be competing for a spot on U-19 World Cup team The only high school player nominated for U.S. Soccer Young Athlete of the Year Award, 2001 NSCAA/adidas Under-17 Youth All-American First-team All-CIF selection and CIF Defensive Player of the Year in 2001.
Stacy LindstromMFLaguna Niguel, CA/Aliso Niguel HS. A 2002 Parade All-American, and graduating from high school a year early to join UCLA in the fall. Member of Under-18 and 19 U.S. National Teams Will be competing for a spot on Under-19 World Cup team. 2001 NSCAA/adidas Under-16 Youth All-American First-team All-CIF selection Played club soccer for the Southern California Blues.
Allie TrueMFAlamo, CA/Monte, Vista HS. Member of the Under-19 U.S. National Team. Will be competing for a spot on the Under-19 U.S. World Cup Team. 2001 NSCAA/adidas High School All-American National ODP player since U-14s.
Katie Rivera FMission Viejo, CA/Santa Margarita Catholic HS. Member of Under-19 U.S. National Team Pool. First-team All-CIF selection. Missed her senior season of high school soccer due to a torn ACL Would have been competing for a spot on the U-19 World Cup team Hoping to be at full strength by this fall. Plays for the Southern California Blues Soccer Club.
