February 5, 2003 Tough season ahead for the Richmond Spiders Head coach Peter Albright is challenging his players next season with their toughest program so far. Last season was their best ever and he feels that to continue improving one has to raise the level of competition. "We could have scheduled to go 17-02, but that would have done no one any good," said Albright. "It's far better, I believe, to play out of your comfort zone; to see how good you are and get an idea about how good you can become." The Spiders are set to host the A-10 Championships in early November. They return ten starters from a team that went 15-6-2 and advanced to the 'Sweet Sixteen' of the NCAA Tournament before losing to Portland, and finished 16th. in the final rankings. 2003 University of Richmond schedule Home teams first Monday August 25 Richmond v Maryland (scrimmage) 7:00 Saturday August 30 Virginia Commonwealth v Richmond 7:00 Friday September 5 At the JMU Tournament to play JMU Sunday September 7 At the JMU Tournament to play UNH Friday September 12 At the Tennessee Tournament to play UT Sunday September 14 At the Tennessee Tournament to play Denver Friday September 19 At the Duke Tournament to play Duke and UNC Sunday September 21 ³ ³ Friday September 26 George Washington v Richmond 4:00 Monday September 29 Richmond v Virginia 7:00 Friday October 3 Richmond v Rhode Island 7:00 Sunday October 5 Richmond v Massachusetts 1:00 Friday October 10 Duquesne v Richmond 7:00 Sunday October 12 St Bonaventure v Richmond 12:00 Friday October 17 Richmond v Xavier 7:00 Sunday October 19 Richmond v Dayton 1:00 Friday October 24 Richmond v Temple 7:00 Sunday October 26 Richmond v St. Joseph's 1:00 Friday October 31 LaSalle v Richmond 3:00 Sunday November 2 Fordham v Richmond 1:00
