November 5, 2002 University of Denver senior keeper Erica Izard named by the Sun Belt Conference as Player of the Week Izard is the fourth Pioneer to win the award this season. She becomes the first Pioneer in the program's history to win three times in a career. Izard only needed to make one save last weekend to extend her career-best and school-record 12-game winning streak and take over first place on Denver all-time wins list with her 49th career victory. She takes over first place for keeper career games played (76), keeper career minutes played (6,971), shutouts (41) and career goals against average (.891). Izard is also in second place all-time in saves (330). Izard has allowed just two goals just two goals in her last ten outings and is currently ninth in the nation in goals against average with a 0.53 mark this season, which includes 11 shutouts this season. She leads the Sun Belt Conference in nearly every statistical goalkeeping category this season surrendering just two goals against in eight Sun Belt Conference games including a league-best six shutout wins and a .833 saves percentage.
