Dayton took its fifth corner kick with one minute left in a scorelss game, and Teasia Kozlowski's cross found the head of freshman Sedlacek, who flicked it in to give the University of Dayton the win, and Michigan State University their first loss of the season with 49 seconds left in the match.

The Dayton Flyers defensive line allowed just four shots on goal. Senior goalkeeper Stephanie Weisenfeld (Buffalo Grove, IL) was there to stop all four and posted her fourth shutout in 2002.

In the 79th minute, Michigan State was called for offside and had a goal taken away. The Spartans' Abby Shepard was in an offside position as teammate Trisha Kenny fired a shot from 20 yards out which Weisenfeld made a diving save on. Once the rebound off the left post came to Shepard, offsides was called and negated the goal.

The Flyers begin the defense of their sixth Atlantic 10 Conference regular season title Thursday night, hosting Xavier University at Baujan Field. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. in the A-10 opener for both teams.
