Close one for Dayton in win over Xavier

Dayton 1 Xavier 0

Baujan Field, Dayton, Ohio
Attendance 507

Because of rain and lightning the game start was delayed nearly two hours.
The University of Dayton defeated Xavier University at Baujan Field Thursday night. Shannon Kuhl 's goal, from a cross by Beth McHugh, in the 31st minute was to be the only one of the evening due mainly to Dayton's resolute defense.

"She (McHugh) bent her crossing pass away from the keeper," said UD head coach Mike Tucker. "And Shannon (Kuhl) was there to head it to the far corner like she did so many times last year."

The Flyers have the weekend off and won't play again until next weekend. Friday, September, 27th. They go to the University of Illinois for an 8:00 p.m. ET match versus the Illini. Next Sunday, UD plays at Oakland University at 1:00 p.m. ET.
