Shannon Kuhl named to Verizon Academic All-America First Team

University of Dayton senior Shannon Kuhl (Hamilton, Ohio) was selected to the Verizon Academic All-America First Team. She becomes the second Dayton player to earn a spot on an Academic All-America team. After being selected to the Verizon Academic All-District First Team, Kuhl was eligible for national consideration.

She holds a 3.93 GPA in Education and was a key element of the Flyers' offensive attack in 2002 as the team's third-leading scorer with seven goals and two assists for 16 points. The Badin High School graduate also scored five of UD's 17 game-winning goals this season which tied her for the most in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Along with her Verizon awards, Kuhl was selected to the A-10 All-Academic team for the second consecutive year.
