Germany qualifies for a UEFA place at the 2002 FIFA U-19 World Cup tournament

The Germany win secures them a place in the semi-finals and therefore a place as one of the four UEFA teams going to Canada.

Commentary

Annelie Brendel scored for Germany in the 16th minute and 3 minutes before time Viola Odebrecht scored o make it 2-0 for Germany. Spain did better than expected and their 1-0- win against Sweden gave Spain an opportunity to qualify for the semifinals.

Sweden has disappointed the home fans with a tie against France and a loss to Spain. The hosts are in real trouble, and only a win against Germany in the last group match will give Sweden a chance to qualify for the semifinals.
