Spain U-19 National Team upsets Denmark U-19 National Team in their opening game

Spain midfielder Adriana Martin hit a hat-trick to secure a 4-1 victory in their opening game. Tuesday afternoon. She gave Spain the lead with a goal at the 21 minute mark and they controlled the game from them on. Spain grew stronger as the game progressed while Denmark was a pale copy of last season's team that reached the semi-finals of the competition.

The score at half-time was 1-0, but Martin scored soon after the restart and added another at the 60 minute mark. Sonia Bermudez added the fourth at 70 minutes with a header off a fine cross by Melisa Nicolau.

Denmark managed a consolation goal by Marian Hansen against the run of play six minutes from the end, and they had their goalkeeper Susanne Graversen to thank for keeping the score down.
